The iteach program is designed to be self-paced, allowing you to complete your coursework whenever you are available. From the point of application to the completion of courses 5000-5300, the completion of the 30 observation hours, payment plan set up, and the passing of your specific content tests, you will then be eligible for hire. At this point, it is estimated to be anywhere from 1-6 weeks since the point of application.
Timeline After Being Hired
Once you have completed the steps listed above and have received your Statement of Eligibility, you will then be able to be hired by a school district under an Intern Certificate. Upon being hired, you will then have until the end of your two semesters to complete your remaining coursework, pay your account balance in full, and pass the Pedagogy and Professional Resources (PPR) exam. At this point, you will be recommended for your Standard Certificate.
It is here that it will be about 12-14 months since the point of application. After completion of the aforementioned steps, you will be on your way to a career as a certified educator!
